Cache la Poudre Specialty Coffee Roasters ...  a locally owned, small batch, coffee roaster.
Our goal is to offer only the finest Organic Certified, Fair Trade arabica beans, roasted to the
signature quality of an artisan roaster. Our commitment to coffee roasting and to you, the
discriminating coffee drinker, blend together for the most incredible cup of organic coffee
you will ever experience. The proof is in the cup!

Why Organic Certified?

The majority of specialty coffee is non-certified passive organic, adhering to generally accepted organic farming practices which nurture, rather than rupture, the ecosystem. Obtaining organic certification is not always economically feasible for coffee growers. We choose to offer Organic Certified coffees with the hope that the certification process, both for Fair Trade and Organic coffees, becomes accessible—“read affordable”-- to all coffee growers.

Why Fair Trade?

Fair Trade . . .is a co-op certification - that is, it does not allow certification for small independent farms -
it is for co-ops only! The objective is to assure consumers that the coffee is purchased under fair
conditions at fair prices. A high percentage of independent small farms and larger estates work diligently to ensure their workers earn a good wage, have access to health care, and generally operate in
the "Fair-Trade" mode, although they can't afford to be certified as such. Many green coffee importers now engage “Direct Trade” with growers, negotiating directly with growers for market price above the Fair Trade minimums and support “Fair Trade” objectives.
